I am 23 years old and from someone who is no stranger to hard work and detication to something other than Facebook, Twitter,Shopping and such, it really means alot to have support from others. I know this generation does indeed seem to be totally self absorbed but we really are good kids who want to make a diference in our lives and the lives of others. I have worked two jobs since I graduated High school in 2008 and this December I will be the first African American to graduate from the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga with a Degree in Molecular Biology. I want to study Prenatal Genetics in hopes to bring healthy lives into the world. Its a stretch but it is because of people like you who inspire and motivate rather than mock and critisize that give our dreams a shot. Trust me, my life has not been peachy. With my mother passing in 2001 and my father experiencing 3 heartattacks, 2 minor strokes, Diabetes and a swoon of other health concerns, I have not been the most privigedled or self-endulged person. I value hard work and appreciate it when people notice but continue to do my job to the best of my ability when they dont. I dont feel it is absolutely necessary to be held on a pedestal for doing your job well, its expected. I accepted a position at Parkridge Medical Center and I'm so happy and anxious to do a good job. I worked in their Gift Shop for 4 years and got offered a position to do PBX reception. I have already learned so much and met so many great people who are willing to help me on the job and after graduation. If we could all be a little more considerate and willing to do something for others, the world would be a better and happier place.
-Thank You
Shameka D.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09723163073597041799noreply@blogger.com
